Everything you need to know about WhateSIM — from eSIM basics to business setup, billing, and API integration.
WhateSIM is a connectivity management platform designed for the global travel ecosystem. We enable hotels, tour operators, OTAs, MICE agencies, and Airbnb hosts to offer eSIM connectivity to their guests — and earn commission on every activation.
We also offer WhateSIM Travel for individual travelers, and WhateSIM CM for distributors building their own connectivity networks.
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into modern smartphones. Instead of inserting a physical SIM, travelers can purchase a data plan and activate it instantly via a QR code or activation link — no physical card required.
eSIMs are supported by iPhone XS and later, most modern Samsung Galaxy devices, Google Pixel 3 and later, and many other devices.
WhateSIM offers coverage in 190+ countries and regions. We have plans for individual countries, regional bundles (Europe, Asia, Americas), and global plans. Coverage details are shown on each plan page.
With WhateSIM, travelers purchase and activate their eSIM before they land — directly through WhatsApp or Instagram. They arrive already connected, with no airport queues, no language barriers, and no overpriced kiosk plans.
For businesses, WhateSIM means your guests associate connectivity with your service, not a random airport vendor — and you earn commission on every sale.
WhateSIM Business accounts can be created by partners in any country. The eSIM products can be used by travelers visiting 190+ destinations. Visit our Store to browse available destinations.
No. The entire purchase and activation process happens through WhatsApp or Instagram. Guests tap a link, choose a plan, pay, and receive their eSIM QR code — all without downloading anything new.
iPhone: Go to Settings → General → About. If you see an EID number or "Digital SIM," your device supports eSIM (iPhone XS and later).
Android: Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager. If there's an "Add eSIM" option, your device is compatible.
Your device must also be unlocked (not carrier-locked) to use an eSIM from a different provider.
Yes. Most modern smartphones support Dual SIM (physical SIM + eSIM). You can keep your home number active for calls while using the WhateSIM eSIM for data. Just make sure data roaming is set to use the eSIM line in your phone settings.
eSIMs activate automatically when your device connects to a supported network in the destination country. You can install the eSIM profile before you travel — it won't start consuming data until you arrive.
No. For security reasons, eSIM profiles are tied to a specific device after installation. If you change phones, you'll need to purchase a new eSIM. Unused eSIMs that haven't been installed can sometimes be transferred — contact support for assistance.
When your data allowance is used up, your eSIM data connection pauses. You'll receive a WhatsApp notification. You can purchase a top-up or a new plan directly through the same WhatsApp conversation — no need to go through setup again.
No. The Starter plan is completely free with no credit card required. You can create your account and start earning commission immediately. See our Pricing page for plan details.
WhateSIM Business is designed for any travel-adjacent business: hotels, boutique properties, tour operators, Airbnb hosts, OTAs, MICE agencies, airport lounges, travel agencies, and more. If your customers travel internationally, WhateSIM is a fit.

Yes. API access is available on the Enterprise / CM plan. The WhateSIM API allows you to programmatically issue eSIMs, check plan availability, manage partner accounts, and retrieve commission reports. Documentation is available in your dashboard under Developer → Docs.
Yes, on the Enterprise plan. You can brand the entire guest experience with your logo, colors, and domain. Your guests see your brand — not WhateSIM's. This is ideal for OTAs, large hotel groups, and CM distributors building their own product.
WhateSIM currently supports WhatsApp and Instagram as the primary guest-facing channels. Email links are also available. WhatsApp Business API integration is available on Business and Enterprise plans for automated messaging workflows.
Enterprise plan customers can use the API to trigger connectivity offers based on booking events from your PMS (Property Management System) or booking platform. Native integrations with popular PMS systems are on our roadmap. Contact support@whatesim.com to discuss your integration needs.
Our team is available via WhatsApp and email. We typically respond within a few hours during business hours.
